Oxygen Karaoke

Sing Your way to Health

Breathe Better, Feel Better, and Elevate Your Mood

At The Center, we believe health improvement should be effective, accessible, and sustainable.

Oxygen Karaoke is a simple, individual session built around one mechanism:
singing naturally requires deeper breathing.

When you sing, your body takes in fuller breaths without conscious effort. In an oxygen-enriched environment, those deeper breaths allow for greater oxygen absorption, supporting clarity, mood, and overall well-being.

No breathing techniques to learn.

No devices on your face.

Just singing.

You’ll find a brief explanation of why this service is offered near the bottom of this page.

Why Oxygen Karaoke?

Singing isn’t just a fun pastime, it’s a proven way to improve your health! In our group singing sessions, everyone joins in when they know the song, creating a shared experience that encourages deeper breathing, increased oxygen intake, and a lift in overall well-being.

A Simple Way to Breathe More Deeply

Most people don’t breathe as deeply as they think they do, especially when they’re under stress, tired, or distracted. Shallow breathing limits oxygen intake and can contribute to fatigue, tension, and low mood.

Singing naturally changes that. When you sing, you take deeper breaths and sustain airflow longer without having to think about breathing at all. Oxygen Karaoke uses this natural breathing pattern to support fuller oxygen absorption in an easy, intuitive way.

Physical Benefits: Oxygen, Circulation, and Respiratory Support

Singing engages the diaphragm and respiratory muscles more fully than normal speech. Research published in the European Respiratory Journal shows that singers tend to have stronger respiratory muscles and better breath control than non-singers.

Deeper breathing improves oxygen circulation, supports cardiovascular function, and helps the body use oxygen more efficiently. When singing takes place in an oxygen-supported environment, those benefits can be enhanced without masks, devices, or technical instruction.

Emotional Benefits: Stress Relief and Mood Elevation

Singing has been shown to reduce cortisol, the hormone associated with stress. Studies from institutions such as the Royal College of Music and the University of East Anglia have found that singing is associated with increased endorphins and oxytocin, chemicals linked to improved mood and relaxation.

Many people notice that singing helps them release tension, feel lighter emotionally, and shift out of a stressed or overwhelmed state. Oxygen Karaoke supports this effect by encouraging steady breathing throughout the session.

Mental Benefits: Focus, Clarity, and Cognitive Engagement

Singing activates multiple areas of the brain at once, including regions involved in memory, attention, and coordination. Research suggests that regular singing may support cognitive function and mental clarity, particularly as people age.

Because attention is focused on music rather than on “doing a technique correctly,” the mind tends to settle. People often leave sessions feeling clearer, more present, and mentally refreshed.

Why This Is Different From Traditional Karaoke

This is not performance-based karaoke.

Songs are meant to be sung together rather than individually or in turns. The emphasis is on continuous singing to support steady breathing, not on vocal ability or entertainment. Sessions are designed for one singer, but that singer may choose to invite others to join. When others participate, the hour is shared and songs are sung collectively.

The focus stays on breathing, engagement, and enjoyment, not performance.

Who This Service Is Especially Helpful For

Oxygen Karaoke tends to appeal to people who:

  • feel tense, fatigued, or mentally overloaded
  • dislike formal breathing exercises or meditation
  • want a low-pressure way to support mood and energy
  • enjoy music but don’t consider themselves “singers”

No experience is required. Participation, not talent, is what matters.

How the Session Works

Designed for One Singer

Oxygen Karaoke sessions are designed for one singer and booked by the hour. The focus is on continuous singing rather than performance, allowing breathing to stay steady and natural throughout the session.

The singer may choose to invite others to join during their hour. When others participate, the session time is shared and songs are sung together.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • You sing along to songs you enjoy
  • Singing is continuous rather than turn-based
  • The focus is not performance - it is natural, sustained breathing
  • No breathing techniques or instructions are required

Singing keeps breathing deep and rhythmic without effort or concentration.

Music Selection

With a library of over 8,000 songs, you can choose music that feels familiar and comfortable. In a typical one-hour session, singers usually complete approximately 17–20 songs, depending on song length and how smoothly selections are made.

Whether you sing softly or more enthusiastically, the benefit comes from the breathing itself.

Support During the Session

If helpful, I may join in on familiar songs to help set a comfortable pace and reduce self-consciousness, especially for those who are new to singing this way. Many people find it easier to relax and sing more freely when they are not singing alone.

Session Length

Each session lasts one hour.

What Matters Most

No experience is required.

Participation, not talent, is what matters.

We offer flexible packages to suit different needs. Each session lasts one hour. On average, you may sing about 17–20 songs per hour, depending on song length. Choose the plan that works best for you.

Oxygen Karaoke Packages and Pricing

Packages are intended for those who choose to use singing as a regular support for breathing, mood enhancement, or recovery.

Why this is offered

This service grew out of recovery and surprise, not out of planning.

After a mild head injury in 1992, I lost the ability to read music, even though I had been an accomplished pianist. Singing, however, remained accessible. I could still hear pitch internally and stay on key.

As singing became regular, my rehabilitation doctor noticed measurable improvements in my brainwave patterns and encouraged me to continue. Years later, I recognized the role of deep breathing and lung pressure in oxygen absorption. Singing consistently left me clearer, more energized, and more optimistic. That lived experience is why this unusual service is offered here.

Having gone to just two karaoke social events in my life, I had no idea that regular karaoke singing oxygen therapy would have such an impact on my health - both physical and mental.

Marsha has a strong musical background and brings this knowledge to our karaoke session, helping with breathing techniques and voice control.  There is an extensive library of all types of songs to choose from - although the familiar songs are easy to sing, trying different music genres keeps my interest piqued and my attention focused on learning and becoming more comfortable with new songs.

I feel refreshed while I'm singing, because I am expanding my ribcage and diaphragm and breathing much more deeply.  It's an exercise done without conscious effort but with tangible benefits.  I enjoy karaoke oxygen therapy thoroughly and highly recommend experiencing it at the Wellness Center!
