Sing Your way to Health
Breathe Better, Feel Better, and Elevate Your Mood
At The Center, we believe health improvement should be both effective and enjoyable. Our
Oxygen Karaoke Program combines the joy of singing with the science of wellness to boost both your physical and mental health. While you sing your favorite songs, your body absorbs more oxygen, helping you relax, relieve stress, and enhance your mood.

Why Oxygen Karaoke?
Singing isn’t just a fun pastime—it’s a proven way to improve your health! In our group singing sessions, everyone joins in when they know the song, creating a shared experience that encourages deeper breathing, increased oxygen intake, and a lift in overall well-being.
Enhanced Oxygen Intake
Singing requires deep diaphragmatic breathing, which increases lung capacity and improves oxygen circulation. Research from the European Respiratory Journal shows that singers have stronger respiratory muscles and better breath control than non-singers, promoting cardiovascular health.
Mental Health and Emotional Well-being
Group singing reduces anxiety and depression. A study by the University of East Anglia found that singing in a social setting boosts the production of endorphins and oxytocin, hormones linked to happiness and social bonding. Participants reported higher life satisfaction after regular group singing sessions.
Stress Reduction and Immune Boost
Singing reduces cortisol, the hormone related to stress. A study by the Royal College of Music found that group singing significantly reduced stress markers. Singing also stimulates the vagus nerve, helping calm the nervous system and improving heart rate variability, a marker of stress resilience.
Cardiovascular and Respiratory Health
The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) reports that regular singing strengthens the diaphragm and intercostal muscles, improving oxygen exchange and supporting heart health. Singing has also been linked to lower heart rates and better circulation.
Cognitive Benefits and Brain Health
Research from the University of Frankfurt shows that singing improves cognitive function and boosts the immune system. Regular singing activates both hemispheres of the brain, enhancing memory, focus, and problem-solving skills. It’s even been linked to a reduced risk of cognitive decline in older adults.
Social Connection and Longevity
Group singing fosters a sense of belonging and connection. Harvard Medical School reports that strong social bonds can increase longevity, reduce chronic illness risk, and improve life quality. Singing together strengthens relationships and reduces feelings of loneliness.
Each session includes 5 participants in a non-stop group singing format, where everyone joins in on the songs they know. You’ll enjoy a lively, shared experience that enhances your physical and mental health.
We have a library of over 8,000 songs, offering something for everyone—whether you prefer classic hits or today’s favorites.

How Our Program Works
Our
Oxygen Karaoke program is unlike traditional karaoke, where individuals perform solo. Here, everyone sings together when they know the song. This non-stop, collaborative style promotes continuous breathing and oxygen intake, helping you enjoy the health benefits of group singing while having fun. Whether you're an experienced vocalist or just love singing along, you'll leave each session feeling energized and relaxed.
With over 8,000 songs in our library, there's always something to sing! From classic hits to modern favorites, our program lets you engage in a health-promoting, full-body experience that enhances both your physical and mental well-being.

Why this is offered
This service grew out of recovery and surprise — not out of planning.
After a mild head injury in 1992, I lost the ability to read music, even though I had been an accomplished pianist. Singing, however, remained accessible. I could still hear pitch internally and stay on key.
As singing became regular, my rehabilitation doctor noticed measurable improvements in my brainwave patterns and encouraged me to continue. Years later, I recognized the role of deep breathing and lung pressure in oxygen absorption. Singing consistently left me clearer, more energized, and more optimistic. That lived experience is why this unusual service is offered here.
